Hyderabad: Telangana’s first Chief Minister and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao said fulfilling Professor Jayashankar’s ideals and carrying forward his vision was the highest tribute to the late ideologue.
In a message on the occasion of Professor Jayashankar’s birth anniversary on August 6, KCR extended greetings to the people of Telangana and recalled his personal and political association with the Telangana movement’s intellectual architect. He described Jayashankar as a committed theoretician who popularised a vision of statehood rooted in contextual strategy and ideological clarity.
KCR said Professor Jayashankar’s guidance and motivational presence during the renewed phase of the agitation helped shape the movement’s strategies and inspired mass mobilisation in response to the prevailing political environment.
Jayashankar’s counsel shaped strategy during agitation: KCR
The BRS leader credited Jayashankar with offering critical advice that helped define the course of the second phase of the agitation, giving him, as the movement’s political lead, the confidence to act decisively.
He recalled how Jayashankar stood by him during the movement, offering steady support and encouragement, and said his efforts were aimed at realising the dreams articulated by the late academic.
KCR said the creation of Telangana and a decade of governance aligned with Jayashankar’s vision had set a national benchmark for state-led development.
