HYDERABAD: BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) launched a scathing attack on the Congress Party, accusing it of being unmatched when it comes to making false promises. He alleged that Congress made countless promises over the past one and a half years but failed to deliver anything tangible.
KCR further claimed that not only local Congress leaders but also members of the Gandhi family travelled from Delhi to Telangana, dancing and making promises during the Lok Sabha election campaign. He criticised the Congress for swearing on sacred sites across the state, only to later break their word. Highlighting public dissatisfaction, he said that even women are now saying they do not need free RTC bus travel, yet blame is being wrongly directed at him.
He stated that the public placed their trust in Congress with hope and were ultimately deceived. KCR pointed out that Congress leaders are falsely claiming there is no debt burden, while the reality is quite the opposite.
KCR accused the Congress government of severely damaging the state’s financial stability. He said that due to their lack of administrative capability, Telangana has been pushed into a state of uncertainty. Expressing deep anguish, he said it pains him to witness the decline of Telangana under the current government.
Referring to land prices, KCR remarked that under BRS governance, land values had soared, but within just a year under Congress rule, prices have plummeted and buyers have disappeared.
He also criticised the Congress for demolishing poor people’s houses in the name of Hyderabad’s development. KCR highlighted that Telangana, once ranked number one during the BRS era, has now been relegated to the fourteenth position under the Congress regime.
Expressing his grave concern, KCR said it was heartbreaking to see the deterioration of the state before his eyes. He questioned what achievements the current government could possibly deliver over the remaining two to two-and-a-half years of its term.
