Warangal: BRS President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing it of comprehensive failure across all sectors in Telangana. Addressing a massive public meeting at Elkathurthy on Saturday, he criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration for mismanagement and incompetence.
KCR alleged that the Congress regime had failed to deliver on essential services such as drinking water, irrigation, uninterrupted power supply, Rythu Bandhu support, seed and fertiliser distribution, paddy procurement, rural and urban development, and even in maintaining land values. “Where did they pass?” he asked, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. He cited that 20–30% commissions were being openly demanded, not merely as an allegation but based on complaints received by the Finance Minister from more than 200 contractors.
He accused the government of prioritising lies, vote bank politics, and looting over genuine governance. In a sharp comment on the administration, he said that feeding grass to donkeys and milking bulls would never yield results, urging people to act with reason rather than emotion.
Expressing anguish over the demolition of houses belonging to the poor under the pretext of clearing encroachments, KCR said that bulldozers once used for desilting tanks during the BRS era were now being misused for demolitions. He lamented that Telangana’s economy had sharply declined under Congress rule, dropping from the top position nationally to 15th place. “I never imagined that Telangana would regress before my eyes,” he said emotionally.
KCR noted that farmers who once walked with pride were now demoralised, as land values had plummeted. He stated that the prosperity built under BRS leadership was being rapidly dismantled. He criticised the Congress government for failing to complete key irrigation projects like Gouravelli and Palamuru, despite repeated promises.
The former Chief Minister also attacked Congress leaders for lacking administrative seriousness. “A Chief Minister must act with dignity,” he asserted, criticising the scrapping of welfare initiatives like KCR Kits, intended to erase his legacy. He recalled that during his tenure, he continued schemes like Aarogyasri introduced by Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy without political bias, setting a precedent that he claimed the current leadership had failed to follow.
Warning police officials against filing false cases against BRS cadres, KCR declared, “The BRS has legal warriors. We will fight back. Telangana’s people will stand by us.” He accused the government of obstructing BRS meetings, creating traffic jams, and misusing the police to suppress opposition activities.
Exuding confidence, he stated that no force could stop the BRS from returning to power. “Tonight, go home and write in your diaries – BRS will come back. It’s inevitable,” KCR asserted.
He urged people to act with intellect rather than anger and to resolve to bring back a progressive Telangana under BRS leadership.
