HYDERABAD, February 10: Senior Congress leader Jaggareddy has expressed his views on the party’s defeat in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, stating that victories and losses are natural in politics. He conveyed optimism that while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a win in Delhi this time, the Congress party is poised to make a comeback in the next elections.
Jaggareddy remarked that Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), who was previously part of the INDIA alliance, has recently exhibited arrogance. He asserted that Kejriwal lacks the stature to dominate Rahul Gandhi’s personality and that AAP does not possess the strength to influence national politics.
Discussing the Congress party’s solo contest in the Delhi elections, Jaggareddy suggested that Rahul Gandhi likely intended to strengthen the party independently. He interpreted the solo fight as an indication from Gandhi to the party cadre to be prepared for independent battles. In the recent Delhi elections, the Congress party did not secure any seats, with only three out of 70 candidates managing to retain their deposits, while 67 lost them due to insufficient votes. This marks the third consecutive time the Congress has failed to win seats in Delhi.
