Hyderabad: Police have prepared elaborate arrangements for the Khairatabad Ganesh immersion, a major annual event that draws lakhs of devotees. The immersion will conclude by 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to the timetable fixed in a high-level review meeting on Wednesday.
Devotee access to close by midnight
Officials said devotees can view the Khairatabad Maha Ganapati idol only until midnight on Thursday. From Friday morning, workers will begin dismantling the shed around the idol. By night, the idol will be placed on a massive trolley, and welding will be carried out to secure it for the procession. After these steps, the idol will be readied for the annual Shobha Yatra.
Immersion to finish by 1:30 p.m. Saturday
Saifabad ACP Sanjay Kumar said the Shobha Yatra will begin at 6 a.m. on Saturday. He added that police aim to complete the Khairatabad Ganesh immersion by 1:30 p.m. the same day. Strong security and traffic measures will guide the procession, ensuring it moves without disruption and ends on schedule.
