Hyderabad: A young couple in Khammam district died by suicide in a suspected case of family opposition to their inter-caste relationship.
Harika (20) and Srikanth (24), neighbours in Pandithapuram village of Kamepalli mandal, were found hanging in separate houses. The incident has shocked the locality, with residents suspecting the deaths were linked to a failed love affair.
According to initial reports, the families of the two had allegedly opposed their relationship due to caste differences. The couple’s decision to end their lives is believed to have stemmed from the rejection of their desire to marry.
Local police arrived at the scene and registered a case. Investigation is ongoing.
