HYDERABAD: Countering Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao’s recent remarks, Congress MP Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy launched a scathing attack on the BRS leader, accusing him of hypocrisy, sidelining Backward Classes (BCs), and losing relevance within his own party.
Responding to Harish Rao’s comment that “KCR built Telangana, and Revanth Reddy destroyed it,” Chamal Kiran retorted that it was, in fact, the BRS government that pushed the surplus Telangana state into a debt trap of ₹7 lakh crore. “The state that you people ruined is now being rebuilt by Revanth Reddy,” he said.
He further criticised Harish Rao’s language, saying, “If KCR speaks the language of cultivation, Harish Rao claims Revanth speaks the language of death. But the truth is, it’s your family that stood on Telangana, not for Telangana.”
The Congress MP dismissed Harish Rao’s political stature within BRS, remarking that even Harish himself doesn’t seem to know his current standing in the party. “You’re dreaming in broad daylight about becoming your uncle’s political heir,” he said, taking a jibe at Harish Rao’s aspirations.

Referring to the BRS Silver Jubilee celebrations, Kiran Kumar Reddy pointed out that Harish Rao’s photo was conspicuously missing from posters across the state. “His dream ended back in 2009. After KTR entered the scene, Harish Rao’s status within the party became uncertain,” he alleged.
Taking direct aim at KCR, he called him the “pioneer of vulgar politics in the state,” and described Harish Rao as someone “with eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear.”
Kiran Kumar Reddy also raised concerns over the lack of representation for BCs in BRS. “You served as BC PCC president in Congress, but can BRS even name a BC as its president—or at least as a working president?” he asked. “On the occasion of the BRS Silver Jubilee, they should have at least appointed a BC as party president.”
He criticised KTR for staging what he called a superficial display of strength. “KTR just hired labourers to install massive cutouts in Gachibowli,” he said, dismissing the celebrations as symbolic rather than substantive.
