Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana, holding Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi accountable for the party’s “unrealistic and unfulfilled” election promises.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, Kishan Reddy accused the Congress of misleading voters with six guarantees and 420 promises before coming to power. “They cheated the people to win power and are now drowning the state in debt,” he said, alleging that the Revanth Reddy-led government has failed to implement any of its core declarations.
‘No action on youth, BC, or minority declarations’
He questioned the silence on the Youth Declaration and Minority Declaration made during the election campaign and alleged that the government failed to allocate any meaningful funds for Backward Classes despite pledging ₹1 lakh crore.
“Even ₹40,000 crore was supposed to be spent on BC welfare in two years, but not a single paisa has reached them,” he said, adding that Telangana had gained nothing from Revanth Reddy’s leadership except repeated trips to Delhi.
Demands apology over remarks on President Murmu
Kishan Reddy also condemned recent remarks by minister Konda Surekha against President Droupadi Murmu and demanded an immediate apology. He called on Sonia Gandhi to take responsibility and respond to the comments made by her party members.
He further questioned the Congress’s stand on BC reservations and accused the party of attempting to mislead the public with promises of Muslim quota expansion. “Is this the role model they want for the country?” he asked.
