Hyderabad: Union Minister and Secunderabad MP G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday dismissed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s allegations that the Modi-led government was failing to support Telangana’s development.
Addressing the media, Kishan Reddy suggested the Chief Minister should meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly to understand what development truly meant. He said the Centre was willing to hold an open discussion on its developmental work in Telangana, and questioned whether the Chief Minister was prepared for such a debate.
He advised Revanth Reddy to avoid, in his words, baseless political remarks. Responding on the Hyderabad Metro rail, he said the detailed project report had reached the Centre only last week, and its feasibility would be evaluated. He underlined that the Central government worked for the people of Telangana, not for Revanth Reddy or his party.
On BJP’s state leadership, Kishan Reddy said clarity would emerge on Tuesday regarding the post of Telangana State president. A notification on the election would be released Sunday, with nominations accepted on Monday. The announcement of the new state president would follow on Tuesday, he said, stressing that they preferred a unanimous choice.
He added that Sunil Bansal and Shobha Karlandajle would arrive Monday to oversee the process as election observers.
