Union Minister Kishan Reddy has criticised the Congress-led Telangana government, highlighting delays in employee payments, unfulfilled promises, and financial distress among students and pensioners.
HYDERABAD: Union Minister for Coal and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy has raised serious concerns over the Congress government’s 14-month rule in Telangana, questioning its handling of financial commitments to employees, pensioners, and students.
In an open letter, Kishan Reddy accused the state of neglecting crucial dues, including Dearness Allowance (DA), General Provident Fund (GPF), and pending arrears, leading to financial and mental distress among government employees, teachers, and retirees.
Kishan Reddy criticised the imposition of ceilings on routine bill payments, calling it an act that undermines employee morale. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s approach towards educational institutions, alleging that its treatment of college managements was inappropriate and detrimental to the academic sector.
On the political front, Reddy accused the Congress government of making deceptive promises ahead of the upcoming Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections. He pointed to the unfulfilled assurance of unemployment benefits, stating that ₹56,000 per beneficiary had been pending for 14 months, breaking the trust of Telangana’s youth.
Demanding immediate corrective action, Reddy called on the state government to release ₹7,500 crore for fee reimbursement, ensuring direct transfers to college managements. He also urged the administration to settle all pending retirement benefits for employees, emphasising the need for financial accountability and honoring commitments made to the workforce and student community.
