Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday distributed aid to physically challenged residents in Jubilee Hills, accusing Congress and BRS of neglecting civic development.
He participated in a community screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat at the Nagarjuna Nagar Community Hall in Ameerpet. After the event, he addressed the media and detailed the BJP’s service programmes under the “Seva Paksha” campaign.
“These events are part of the Prime Minister’s birthday celebrations,” he said. “We are conducting service programmes nationwide until Gandhi Jayanti.” He explained that the campaign includes health check-ups for women, diagnostics for physically challenged individuals, and training for self-help groups.
Additionally, he said Swachh Bharat drives are underway in many schools. These include the distribution of toilet-cleaning equipment. “We are also handing out mobility aids like tricycles, study devices, and mobile phones to the physically challenged,” he added.
Kishan Reddy says BJP alone offers civic accountability
According to Kishan Reddy, equipment worth ₹2 crore is being distributed across Hyderabad. BJP teams and NGOs are jointly conducting the drives. He noted that assessment camps for beneficiaries were held over the past two months.
He also pointed to massive blood donation efforts under the same initiative. “Lakhs of people participated. One event even set a Guinness World Record,” he said.
Turning to local issues, Kishan Reddy criticised Congress and BRS for failing to provide clean drinking water, proper drainage, or basic street lighting in Jubilee Hills. “They governed this constituency, but delivered nothing,” he said.
He urged voters to consider the BJP in the upcoming by-election. “People now expect change. The BJP offers honest governance and lasting solutions,” he said.
Kishan Reddy also targeted AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi. He accused him of acting as a political link between Congress and BRS. “They may pretend to be rivals, but people know their past deals,” he said.
He responded sharply to claims from Revanth Reddy and KTR that BJP was aligned with either party. “These attacks reflect their fear. They sense the BJP’s growing strength in Telangana,” he added.
Commenting on the recent stampede in Tamil Nadu, he expressed condolences to the victims. “Organisers must ensure safety at such large events,” he said. He urged authorities to enforce guidelines before issuing permits.
