Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy has written to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, stating that Coal India and NLC India are prepared to invest ₹10,000 crore in Telangana’s energy sector if the state facilitates project agreements.
The letter, issued amid an ongoing political exchange over development roadblocks in Telangana, outlines concrete proposals for solar and wind energy projects. Reddy said both public sector undertakings are ready to move forward with large-scale renewable installations, including pumped hydro and battery storage systems.
According to the Union Minister, the proposed ventures could bring direct investments totalling ₹10,000 crore into the state. Reddy’s letter followed sharp public criticism from the Chief Minister, who recently accused the Union Minister of obstructing Telangana’s development.
The communication marks a shift in tone, as Reddy sought to highlight the Centre’s willingness to back infrastructure projects in the state through major central PSUs.
