Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy on Friday called on BJP workers to intensify their campaign against the Congress and BRS in Telangana, accusing both parties of misleading the public and failing to address key issues.

Addressing a BJP workshop on local body elections at the party’s state office, Reddy alleged that the Congress government was deliberately raising distractions to deflect public attention from its unfulfilled promises.

He urged party cadre to focus on exposing the state government’s inaction on implementing the six guarantees it had announced. Reddy also reiterated concerns over the ongoing phone tapping controversy, claiming that even BJP office staff and social media teams were under surveillance.

He accused both the previous BRS government and the current Congress administration of misusing power, stating that phones of judges, opposition leaders, film personalities and businessmen had been tapped. “When in opposition, Revanth Reddy demanded a CBI probe. Now he is silent,” Reddy said.

He called on BJP workers to prepare for public mobilisations and grassroots movements, and said a change in state leadership was necessary to align with what he described as the aspirations of Telangana’s people.

He further alleged that misgovernance by both BRS and Congress had left the state in debt, limiting its ability to fund welfare programmes. He stressed the need for youth and underprivileged communities from rural areas to emerge as new leaders through BJP structures.

Reddy also claimed that the central government had been the main driver behind Telangana’s infrastructure progress in sectors like education, health, highways, and railways. He urged BJP workers to publicise these efforts and contrast them with what he called the state government’s failures.

He said that mandal and district-level committees should be ready for political struggles and that building public awareness of corruption and unfulfilled promises would be crucial in BJP’s state-level strategy.
