Minister Komatireddy alerts R&B officials amid heavy rains

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has placed R&B officials on high alert following continuous heavy rains across Telangana. He directed all field engineers to stay vigilant and conduct immediate ground inspections to address any road-related risks during the Bathukamma and Dasara rush.

With student travel and recreational movement rising, the minister urged youth to avoid unnecessary outings. He also asked officials to monitor the situation closely and respond quickly to emerging dangers.

Komatireddy alerts R&B officials to respond swiftly to flood damage

The minister instructed staff to divert traffic in areas where culverts overflow. He stressed that public transport should not be allowed in such locations under any circumstances. Additionally, he ordered quick temporary repairs to damaged roads to keep transport routes functional.

To prevent loss of life, Komatireddy asked R&B engineers to coordinate with the electricity, police, and revenue departments. He directed them to place warning boards in high-risk zones in consultation with the police.

Minister reviews Narketpally-Addanki highway and Nandipahad underpass

Komatireddy reviewed the Narketpally–Addanki highway project along with Miryalaguda MLA Bathula Laxma Reddy. He also assessed the progress of the Nandipahad X Road underpass construction with R&B Chief Engineer Rajeshwar Reddy. The minister asked officials to speed up the work and eliminate accident-prone zones.

He called for the immediate removal of obstructing electric poles. He also asked officials to coordinate pipeline relocation with the Mission Bhagiratha team. To ensure progress, Komatireddy demanded joint site inspections by all involved departments.

Highway project executive chairman Harikishan Reddy, COO Dr. C.H. Bhagavan Raj, and Deputy Project Head T. Prasad joined the meeting.
