Hyderabad: State Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy on Thursday took sharp aim at BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, demanding that the former chief minister attend the Assembly to debate government policies and performance.
Speaking to media after reviewing road works with senior officials, Komatireddy said if KCR came to the House, Congress would be ready for a discussion on any issue. He remarked that BRS leaders like Harish Rao and K.T. Rama Rao were irrelevant to him, describing them as “not even in the count” and suggesting only Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would engage with them if needed.
Komatireddy further called Harish Rao a “temporary MLA” and mocked his position, claiming he was not even a deputy floor leader.
He insisted KCR should personally debate the Congress government’s actions in the Assembly.
On infrastructure, Komatireddy said Telangana was setting an example nationally in road development. He noted that India ranks high in road accident deaths, with Telugu states among the worst affected. Officials had identified accident-prone black spots and corrective measures were underway, he said.
Komatireddy stated that ongoing road works under the HAM method would be completed within three years, while expansion from four-lane to six-lane had caused delays in some projects.
