Nalgonda will remain Congress stronghold and Telangana model: Komatireddy

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Tuesday declared that Nalgonda will remain a Congress stronghold. He also unveiled a detailed plan to transform the district into a model of development for Telangana.

Speaking at an extended Congress meeting at MNR Gardens, Komatireddy praised party workers for their long-standing support. “You are my leaders, my cadre, my strength and my army,” he said. “For 30 years, you stood by me like a rock. I can never repay this debt.”

The Minister announced several projects aimed at the district’s overall growth. He pledged to convert all rural roads into double roads and promised upgrades for schools and hospitals. He also assured that pending irrigation works would be fast-tracked.

A new integrated residential school named “Young India” will be ready in nine months. It will offer world-class education to poor students. In addition, law and pharmacy courses have begun at Mahatma Gandhi University.

Komatireddy said the SLBC tunnel project would be completed by December 2027 using modern methods. He confirmed that canal-lining works for the Dindi and Brahmana Vellamla projects would be finished to benefit farmers.

Push for local poll victory and sharp BRS criticism

Calling for a Congress sweep in the upcoming local body elections, Komatireddy urged party cadres to win every seat. “Gift me every seat. Let me decide your return gift,” he told the gathering.

He launched a sharp attack on the BRS, calling it a “sinking ship” mired in corruption. He accused the previous government of scams in the Kaleshwaram and Dharani projects. Taking aim at a local BRS leader, he called him a “Lilliput” who never won by more than 2,000 votes and predicted his defeat in the next election.

MLC Kethavath Shankar Naik, Nalgonda Town Congress president Gummula Mohan Reddy, and other senior leaders from across the constituency attended the meeting.
