Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday extended strong support to the family of senior journalist Gidipalli Dattureddy, who died of cardiac arrest recently at age 37.
Visiting Dattureddy’s native village Maddelacheruvu in Pitlam mandal, Kamareddy district, the Minister consoled the grieving family, including Dattureddy’s wife Priyanka and his mother.
Komatireddy, visibly moved by the journalist’s passing, said Dattureddy was not just a journalist but also a close friend and a respected figure. He described the death as a personal loss and assured the family that the government would stand by them.

As a mark of solidarity with the journalist community, the Minister handed over ₹4 lakh in financial assistance and announced that Dattureddy’s wife would be offered an outsourcing government job to provide stability and security to the family.
Komatireddy was accompanied by MP Suresh Shetkar, MLAs Tota Lakshmi Kanth Rao and Sanjeev Reddy, senior journalists from Nalgonda, and other public representatives.
