Hyderabad: Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Seethakka on Monday paid tribute to Telangana anthem lyricist Andeshree, saying his contribution to the statehood movement would remain eternal. Speaking in Hyderabad, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said Andeshree was one of his closest friends and that the poet’s sudden death had deeply shaken him.
He said Andeshree’s song “Jaya Jayahe Telangana” became the united voice of millions during the statehood movement. “His poetry awakened the spirit of Telangana and inspired the people to fight for self-rule,” Venkat Reddy said. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength to bear the loss.
Seethakka says Andeshree’s service to Telangana literature is unparalleled
Minister Seethakka described Andeshree’s contribution to Telangana’s people’s literature as extraordinary. She said his sudden death created an irreplaceable void in Telangana society. Moreover, she recalled that his songs and writings had kindled awareness and movement spirit among the people.
Seethakka said Andeshree’s “Jaya Jayahe Telangana” anthem became a song of pride for every Telangana child. “As long as Telangana exists, the spirit Andeshree created will live on,” she said. Finally, she extended her condolences to his family and admirers.
