Hyderabad: Komatireddy warns KTR of political exposure, accusing the BRS working president of arrogance, corruption, and disrespect towards the Congress, which fought for India’s freedom and granted Telangana.
Komatireddy warns KTR over ‘dirty party’ jibe, says Congress legacy deserves respect
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a sharp attack on Thursday, reacting to K.T. Rama Rao’s comment calling Congress a “dirty party.” He questioned KTR’s respect for Telangana’s history and Sonia Gandhi’s role in state formation. “Is the party that gave Telangana a third-grade party in your eyes?” he asked. “Ask your father KCR, who stood with Sonia Gandhi when Telangana was granted.”
He highlighted the Congress’s Vice-Presidential nominee Justice Sudarshan Reddy, a Telangana-born jurist who supported statehood even while serving in the Supreme Court. “Opposing a son of Telangana exposes the hollowness of your sentiment,” he added.
Komatireddy accused KTR of looting public money while pretending to uphold values. “Those who looted thousands of crores now lecture Congress. Ridiculing the Gandhi family, which gave everything to this nation, only shows his ignorance,” he said. He praised Rajiv Gandhi as one of India’s finest prime ministers and called Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra a campaign for national unity.
On the fertiliser issue, Komatireddy blamed the Centre for the ongoing urea shortage. He said KTR should question Delhi instead of targeting the Congress with “baseless remarks.”
He also hinted at ongoing investigations into irregularities in the Yadadri Thermal Power Station and other projects, warning that they would soon uncover how BRS leaders accumulated illegal wealth.
“The people of Telangana know what Congress has done for Nalgonda. Very soon, KTR’s true face will be exposed,” he said.
