Hyderabad: The investigation into a rave party busted in Kondapur has revealed the alleged involvement of a government officer, adding a sensational twist to the case. Police confirmed that an Andhra Pradesh deputy tahsildar, identified as Manideep, played a key role in organising drug-fuelled parties.
On Sunday night, police raided Rajarajeswari Nilayam service apartments in Kondapur after receiving credible information about a rave party. The operation was carried out jointly by the Telangana Eagle Team and Gachibowli police.
Six arrested with drugs seized
Madhapur DCP Dr. G. Vineet told reporters on Monday that six people were arrested from the spot—Teja, Vikram, Neelima, wine shop owner Purushotham Reddy, software engineer Bhargav, and engineering student Chandan.
During the raid, police seized 20 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of ecstasy pills and 3 grams of MDMA.
Deputy tahsildar’s link emerges
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were regular attendees of parties organised by Manideep, a deputy tahsildar posted in Rajahmundry. Last year, at one such party in Goa hosted by Manideep, the group came into contact with Rahul, a drug supplier from Bengaluru.
Since then, the group allegedly procured drugs from Rahul through Chandan, who acted as a link. Police said Rahul supplied narcotics to Hyderabad for these parties.
Manhunt for absconding accused
Police have now added both Manideep and Rahul as accused in the case. Both are currently absconding. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest them, DCP Vineet said.
Police also disclosed that Vikram, one of those arrested, had earlier been booked in a drug-related case. Officials said search operations have been intensified to curb such rave parties and identify more supply links.
