HYDERABAD: Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy said that freedom fighters Kondaveeti Bachireddy and Kondaveeti Jaganmohan Reddy remain inspirational figures for the current generation. He described them as warriors who fought against bonded labour.
Gutha Sukender Reddy unveiled statues of the Kondaveeti brothers in Palivela village of Munugode mandal, Nalgonda district, alongside MLC Nellikanti Satyam and BC Welfare Association national president Jajula Srinivas Goud. He also released a biography of former MLA Gurunath Reddy during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Sukender Reddy said that individuals who dedicate their lives to the service of others, rather than for personal gain, earn a permanent place in history. He cited Gurunath Reddy, Bachireddy, and Jaganmohan Reddy as examples of such legacy.
He highlighted the role of these leaders in the Telangana Armed Struggle and said they guided the people of the region on the path of resistance. Remembering Gurunath Reddy’s contribution, he noted that he was elected from the then-Chinna Kondur constituency and had rendered significant service to the public.
The Chairman added that the government is committed to completing all pending irrigation projects in the erstwhile Nalgonda district with determination.
MLC Nellikanti Satyam also paid tribute to the Kondaveeti brothers, stating that they fought valiantly in the Telangana Armed Struggle for the abolition of bonded labour.
The event was attended by Press Academy Chairman K. Srinivas Reddy, former MLC Cherupalli Sitaramulu, former MLAs Nandyala Narasimha Reddy and Palla Venkat Reddy, BC Welfare Association national president Jajula Srinivas Goud, Shyam Prasad Reddy, and members of the Kondaveeti family.
