KRMB meeting postponed to February 24 amid Telangana’s water diversion complaint

HYDERABAD: The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) meeting, originally scheduled for this afternoon under the chairmanship of Atul Jain, has been postponed to February 24 at 3:30 PM. The rescheduling follows a request from Andhra Pradesh’s Water Resources Department Special Chief Secretary, citing an urgent meeting.

Earlier, Telangana’s Irrigation Minister, Uttam Kumar Reddy, filed a complaint with KRMB, accusing Andhra Pradesh of unauthorized diversion of Krishna river water. Despite the postponement, Minister Reddy and officials from the Irrigation Department will visit the KRMB office at 3:30 PM today to present their concerns, particularly regarding drinking and irrigation water requirements.

The rescheduled meeting is expected to comprehensively address Telangana’s concerns and ensure fair water distribution between both states.
