Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday accused the ruling Congress party of trying to buy votes in the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, he alleged that Congress was relying on money power instead of delivering effective governance.
KTR warns against Congress tactics in Jubilee Hills bypoll
KTR said the sudden death of MLA Maganti Gopinath had left his family in distress. He assured that BRS would continue to support them. He warned party cadres that a Congress victory in Jubilee Hills would further embolden the government to intensify its “HYDRA demolitions.”
“These demolitions are targeting low-income families in areas like Rahmat Nagar, Borabanda, Yousufguda, Shaikpet, and Erragadda,” he said. “HYDRA will never touch the illegal house built by CM Revanth Reddy’s brother on Durgam Cheruvu. Yet it continues to destroy shelters belonging to ordinary citizens,” KTR alleged.
BRS leader slams Congress for failing on welfare
The BRS leader further claimed that the Congress government had failed on all major welfare promises. “Farmers have missed two rounds of Rythu Bandhu payments. Indiramma houses were not delivered. Still, the government continues to raze homes in the name of HYDRA,” he said.
KTR also stated that had Gopinath been alive, he would have stood by low-income communities. “Congress would not have dared to play these dirty political games,” he added.
