Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Friday met the family of late former MPTC member Karkaboyina Kuntaiah, who died by suicide reportedly due to police harassment in Ankushapur, Tangallapalli mandal of Rajanna Siricilla district.
At the BRS party office in Siricilla, KTR handed over ₹3 lakh as a fixed deposit for Kuntaiah’s younger daughter and assured the family that the party would bear the full expense of the elder daughter’s marriage.
Kuntaiah’s family had earlier alleged he was driven to suicide by sustained police pressure. KTR reaffirmed his earlier promise to support the bereaved family and offered personal assurance to Kuntaiah’s wife.
Family members expressed gratitude to the BRS leader for standing by them.
The meeting was attended by NYAFS-CAB Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao, BRS district president Thota Agayya, former ZP chairperson Aruna, Addagatla Bhaskar, Kurma Rajayya, and Karam Parsharamulu, among others.
