Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to a public debate on Hyderabad’s development, claiming the Congress government had failed the city during its two-year rule.
Speaking at the release of the Jubilee Hills Progress Report, KTR said the BRS was ready to compare its ten-year record with Congress’s recent performance. “If Revanth Reddy has the courage, let him fix the time, place, and language. We are ready be it Command Control, Gandhi Bhavan, or the Assembly,” he said.
KTR showcases BRS record, slams Congress inaction
KTR listed BRS-era civic works including 42 flyovers, underpasses, Swachh Hyderabad, and a daily waste collection of 7.5 metric tonnes. He also highlighted the delivery of thousands of double-bedroom houses.
In contrast, he accused Congress of freezing key infrastructure projects and neglecting basic services. “Where is the new infrastructure in two years?” he asked. “Did they build even one road, extend the metro, or install LED lights?”
KTR also blamed the government for rising crime and declining city conditions.
“Unholy Congress-BJP alliance,” says KTR
Turning to political rhetoric, KTR alleged that Congress had formed an opportunistic alliance with the BJP. He condemned remarks by Congress leaders that, he claimed, disrespected religious minorities.
He demanded an apology from Revanth Reddy. “If he fails to respond, the people will,” he warned.
“Let the public judge on performance”
Appealing to Jubilee Hills voters, KTR said the BRS would seek votes based on work, not slogans. “Let Congress do the same. If they can’t, the people will give their verdict on November 11,” he added.
