HYDERABAD, 30 January 2025: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly condemned the arrest of party corporators during the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) general meeting. He accused the Congress government of neglecting Hyderabad’s development and suppressing opposition voices.

KTR criticised the government for allegedly withholding funds meant for Hyderabad, questioning whether raising concerns on behalf of the city’s one crore residents warranted such action. He stated that despite the previous year’s budget allocations, funds were not utilised, and now the same figures were being presented again without actual spending. He called this a deceptive practice by the Congress government.

He further accused the GHMC administration of failing to ensure basic civic amenities such as sanitation, drinking water, and electricity. According to KTR, the state government is unable to tolerate any questioning of its inefficiencies. He demanded the immediate completion of all development projects initiated by the previous administration for the comprehensive growth of Hyderabad.
