KTR Hyderabad office space leasing decline

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has criticised the Congress-led Telangana government over a reported decline in office space leasing in Hyderabad. Citing a report by real estate consultancy firm Colliers India, he highlighted a 41% decrease in office space absorption in the city during the first quarter of 2025.

According to the Colliers report, while other major cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Pune experienced significant growth in office space leasing during this period, Hyderabad and Kolkata saw declines.

Rama Rao urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to address this downturn before proceeding with plans for new IT parks. He emphasised that this decline is not part of a nationwide trend, as other cities are witnessing growth in this sector. He called for introspection and corrective measures from the state government to reverse the decline and restore Hyderabad’s position as a leader in office space leasing.

Before planning new IT parks, the Telangana Chief Minister must address the alarming 41% decline in office space absorption in Q1 2025 (Colliers report)
