KTR criticises Telangana government over Mid-Day Meal scheme
Hyderabad, February 7: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) has criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over alleged lapses in the mid-day meal scheme in Telangana schools.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), KTR urged the Chief Minister to prioritise schoolchildren’s welfare by ensuring proper meal distribution.
KTR questioned the government’s focus, stating, “Is the enthusiasm for sending bulldozers to demolish homes greater than the commitment to feeding schoolchildren?” He alleged that while efforts are made to assign projects like AMRUT to select contractors, there appears to be neglect towards children’s nutrition.
Highlighting misallocation of resources, KTR remarked, “Funds are readily allocated for projects like the Musi River cleaning, but why is there no attention to the struggles of government schools?” He claimed that even in the Chief Minister’s own constituency, reports indicate that schoolchildren are going hungry due to irregularities in meal distribution.
KTR further criticised the government’s approach, stating that instead of photo-ops and public statements, the administration should conduct regular reviews to ensure timely and consistent meal provision.
Concluding his remarks, he stated, “This is not governance for the people; it is governance that harasses the people,” expressing strong disapproval of the state’s handling of public welfare initiatives.
