HYDERABAD, January 31: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has criticized the Congress party for making unfulfilled promises and mismanaging funds. He stated that while Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured that ‘Rythu Bharosa’ funds would be promptly deposited into farmers’ accounts, the money is instead being wasted in Delhi. KTR made these remarks during a felicitation event for BRS municipal chairpersons and vice-chairpersons at Telangana Bhavan.

He accused the Congress of coming to power with deceptive promises and lacking governance skills. Despite the previous BRS government issuing 6.5 lakh new ration cards, the Congress party falsely claims that no ration cards have been distributed. KTR suggested that those interested could verify this with Congress leaders who participated in the distribution events.

Reflecting on the past, KTR noted that municipalities were once considered neglected areas, with urban local bodies facing significant challenges. However, under the BRS government, K. Chandrashekar Rao provided a clear vision for urban development. This led to comprehensive initiatives aimed at transforming urban areas.

He emphasized that urban expansion is inevitable, and while it cannot be halted, governments have the opportunity to develop these areas comprehensively. Over the past decade, the BRS government has implemented planned reforms, continuous monitoring, and allocated necessary funds, resulting in Telangana’s towns becoming model urban centers. These efforts have earned national recognition for the state’s municipalities.

KTR acknowledged the commendable work of municipal chairpersons and councilors over the past ten years in urban development. He encouraged outgoing officials to remain connected with the public, expressing confidence that citizens would support them in future elections.

He also highlighted the government’s efforts in administrative decentralization, including the creation of new districts, municipalities, and corporations, bringing governance closer to the people. KTR pointed out that these developments have not only improved urban areas but also increased the value of citizens’ assets.

In contrast, he criticized the Congress government for hindering urban development, leading to a decline in property values and a downturn in the real estate sector. He expressed concern that instead of focusing on new constructions, the current administration is demolishing structures under projects like Hydraa and Musi, reflecting a lack of forward-thinking in governance.

KTR’s remarks underscore the BRS party’s commitment to urban development and highlight concerns over the Congress party’s approach to governance and development in Telangana.
