HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticized the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that the state is struggling under the so-called “Indiramma Rajyam.” He claimed that governance has deteriorated, with stalled irrigation projects and growing challenges in the agricultural sector.
KTR remarked that in just 15 months of Congress rule, greenery in Telangana has faded, and agricultural lands are drying up. He pointed out that borewell carts, which had disappeared under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR) governance, have now returned, reflecting the state’s water crisis. He accused the Congress government of failing to provide irrigation support, leaving farmers helpless.
Highlighting the state of drinking water supply, KTR claimed that under KCR’s Mission Bhagiratha, every household had access to clean drinking water. However, he alleged that under Congress, women are once again relying on borewells, wells, and tankers for water. He also blamed the government for the depletion of lakes, ponds, and check dams, stating that agricultural lands are becoming barren due to a lack of water management.
KTR concluded his criticism by stating that Telangana is not facing a natural drought but rather a governance-induced drought caused by Congress mismanagement.
