HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticized the Governor’s budget speech, alleging it was replete with lies and half-truths. Speaking at the Assembly media point during the budget sessions, KTR compared the Governor’s address to that of Gandhi Bhavan workers, implying a bias towards the opposition.
KTR challenged the Governor’s claim that farmer loan waivers exceeding 30% had been implemented statewide, labeling it a blatant falsehood. He accused the Governor of falsely stating that the Rythu Bandhu scheme had been fully disbursed. KTR also criticized the Governor’s remarks on the state’s irrigation crisis, attributing it to the Chief Minister’s incompetence, which he claimed led to crop failures.
He further alleged that, due to blind animosity towards Chief Minister KCR, repairs to the Medigadda project were being neglected. KTR questioned the authenticity of contractors protesting a 20% commission outside the Finance Minister’s chamber, suggesting such events did not occur. He contrasted the current administration’s financial management with the previous one, stating that while the KCR government incurred ₹4 lakh crore in debt over ten years, the Revanth Reddy-led government accumulated ₹1.13 lakh crore in just one year.
Expressing disappointment, KTR condemned the propagation of falsehoods that Telangana became the number one state in paddy production due to Revanth Reddy. He criticized the current Chief Minister for accruing ₹1.62 lakh crore in debt without implementing a single scheme or fulfilling any promises. KTR also accused the Governor of falsely claiming that ₹1.72 lakh crore in investments were secured at Davos.
