Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) will address the Gadwal Garjana meeting in Gadwal town today, Saturday.
Party leaders confirmed that several local leaders will join BRS during KTR’s visit. They opposed MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy’s defection to the Congress. Meanwhile, organisers have been preparing at Teru Grounds since morning. They have mobilised cadres from across the district.
Gadwal Garjana meeting set to showcase BRS strength
BRS constituency in-charge Basu Hanumanthu Naidu and former SAT chairman Anjaneya Goud urged workers from every village to attend. As a result, the town turned pink with flags, banners, and cutouts along the route from Erravalli Crossroads to Gadwal.
Leaders explained that Krishna Mohan Reddy’s switch triggered strong resentment among cadres. None of his close followers joined him in the ruling party. Therefore, the high command gave responsibility for the constituency to Basu Hanumanthu Naidu. In addition, MLC Challa Venkata Ramireddy, MLA Vijay, and Anjaneya Goud extended support to him.
BRS leaders argued that Congress failed to maintain internal democracy. They said the party splintered into groups, leaving many leaders insecure about their future. Moreover, defections, they added, will weaken Congress in Gadwal and boost BRS’s strength.
KTR will leave Hyderabad at 1 p.m. today and reach Gadwal by 3:30 p.m. He will then lead a rally from Dharur Met to Teru Grounds. Where he will address the meeting by 5 pm. Later in the evening, he will return to Hyderabad.
