Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and senior MLA T. Harish Rao on Tuesday paid rich tributes to tribal freedom fighter Kumram Bheem on his death anniversary. They described him as a fearless warrior who fought for Adivasi rights with the slogan “Jal, Jungle, Zameen.”

Both leaders said the spirit of Kumram Bheem’s struggle continued to inspire Telangana’s fight for self-respect and equality. They noted that his ideals guided the people’s movement for justice and social dignity.
Taking to X, K.T. Rama Rao reminded that the BRS government had renamed Asifabad district after Kumram Bheem. He said the state also built a memorial park at his native village, Jodeghat, and constructed an Adivasi Bhavan in Hyderabad to honour his memory.
Rama Rao said Bheem’s life represented courage and resistance against oppression. “His ideals will continue to inspire generations,” he wrote, emphasising the need to preserve the values Bheem stood for.
