Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Vivek Venkatswamy launched a sharp attack on BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, rejecting his claims of boosting Hyderabad’s brand image. “KTR boasts about Hyderabad’s global profile under BRS. Yet citizens everywhere still face floodwater problems even after 20 years,” Vivek said. “Is this the brand image he keeps referring to?” he added.
Vivek demanded that KTR account for his ten years in office. He accused the BRS government of plunging Telangana into debt by launching projects to collect commissions.
KTR Hyderabad flood criticism countered by Jubilee Hills visit
On Wednesday, September 24, Vivek visited flood-hit Krishna Nagar along with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Jubilee Hills election in-charge Vishwanath. The team reviewed inundated areas and held discussions with GHMC and Hydra officials.
To address the issue, Vivek said they had appointed two engineering experts. These experts will design a long-term solution to stop flooding. He confirmed that work will move ahead in close coordination with civic bodies.
Meanwhile, he denounced what he described as a BRS-led disinformation campaign on social media. The party allegedly spread false claims that Hydra JCBs were on standby for demolitions in Jubilee Hills. “These are baseless rumours. There are no demolition drives planned,” he clarified. He urged Cyber Crime police to act against those spreading fake news online.
Minister alleges political agenda behind KTR Hyderabad flood criticism
Vivek also claimed that BRS was pushing misinformation to influence voters ahead of the Jubilee Hills bypoll. “Congress is clearly leading. That’s why BRS is panicking and pushing lies out of frustration,” he said.
