Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Saturday launched the “Congress Baaki Card” campaign, accusing the state government of failing to deliver its promises. He said the cards detailed what Congress still owed to each section of society.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan during the card release, Rama Rao announced that leaders from the state to village level would distribute them to every household. He described the campaign as a new protest method to expose, in his words, the ruling party’s deception. Therefore, he said the initiative would make people aware of unfulfilled assurances.
KTR launches Congress Baaki Card campaign over unkept promises
Rama Rao argued that Congress leaders promised action in the very first cabinet meeting. However, he said the government failed to act even after months in power. He alleged that eight lakh brides received no tola of gold despite repeated assurances.
In addition, he said the government ignored farmers by blocking Rythu Bandhu and loan waivers. Tenant farmers therefore lost ₹15,000 each, agricultural labourers missed ₹12,000, and auto workers lost nearly ₹24,000. He added that women did not get ₹2,500 monthly aid, married daughters received no gold, and the older people lost pensions worth ₹4,000 per month. Students also missed out on promised scooters.
According to him, the Gruhajyothi scheme did not provide 200 units of free power to many families. Poor households still lacked Indiramma houses, and agitators saw no sign of 250-square-yard plots. He further said that students were still waiting for the ₹5 lakh Vidya Bharosa card.
“The Congress owes to all four crore people of Telangana. We will carry these cards to every home and show the betrayal. We are not afraid of cases filed against us,” Rama Rao declared.
