Hyderabad: A rare political moment unfolded in Narmala village of Rajanna Sircilla district on Thursday, when Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao briefly met during separate visits to flood-affected areas.
Bandi Sanjay had just completed interacting with victims in Narmala and was heading back in his convoy when KTR arrived at the same location. Upon spotting his political rival, Sanjay stepped out of his vehicle and greeted him with a smile. The two exchanged pleasantries, inquired about each other’s health, and spoke briefly before parting ways.
Bandi Sanjay KTR meeting in Narmala reflects momentary political civility
KTR commented that Sanjay appeared tired, likely due to his hectic schedule. After their short interaction, KTR resumed his visit, engaging with families displaced or impacted by the ongoing floods in the region.
Though the meeting lasted only a few minutes, it drew attention for its informal tone. The exchange between two senior leaders from rival partiesBJP and BRS stood out amid the otherwise charged political climate in Telangana.
Locals at the site expressed surprise but appreciated the civility. “It was good to see both leaders setting aside politics, even if just for a moment,” said one resident.
Both leaders had arrived in Narmala to assess the damage caused by persistent rains and to review relief efforts underway. While Bandi Sanjay emphasized the need for quicker rehabilitation, KTR focused on the state government’s ongoing relief and restoration initiatives.
Their brief meeting happened while relief teams continued to clear flooded homes and distribute food, medicines, and essentials across the district. Despite their political differences, the unexpected moment served as a pause in the narrative of fierce Telangana electoral rivalry.
