Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao met senior party leader T. Harish Rao at his residence to discuss the Formula E race case, which has triggered political and legal concerns for the party.
KTR reportedly told Harish Rao that the event aimed to boost Hyderabad’s brand value. He denied any wrongdoing and insisted that no public money was misused. According to him, the race helped attract global attention to the city and should not be treated as a scam.
Formula E race case intensifies with financial trail
Despite KTR’s claims, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has identified him as Accused No. 1. Investigators found that ₹45 crore moved from the HMDA’s account to firms involved in the race. These same firms later contributed around ₹44 crore to BRS through electoral bonds.
Officials believe this financial pattern indicates a quid pro quo. The transaction trail has placed the BRS leadership under pressure, with enforcement agencies likely to accelerate the investigation. Discussions between KTR and Harish Rao reportedly focused on crafting a legal and political response.
