HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao filed a quash petition in the High Court seeking dismissal of a case registered against him for unauthorised drone usage at Medigadda Barrage. The case, filed at Mahadevpur Police Station, alleges that on July 26, 2024, KTR and his associates visited the barrage without prior permission and operated a drone.
During the hearing, the public prosecutor argued that Medigadda Barrage is a critical project for Telangana and is listed as a restricted area, where prior permission is mandatory for any visits or activities. The prosecutor expressed concerns that unauthorised drone operations could pose a threat to the dam’s security and set a precedent for others to follow.
KTR’s counsel contended that the case lacks substantial evidence and should be dismissed promptly. After hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court adjourned the next hearing to March 18.
