Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao said regional parties are playing an increasingly vital role in Indian politics and will be central to resolving public issues in the future.
In a podcast interview, KTR voiced concern over the absence of a strong opposition, warning that such a void is undermining India’s democratic balance.
He also strongly criticised the ongoing Lok Sabha delimitation process and warned that attempts to impose Hindi on non-Hindi-speaking states threaten the country’s linguistic and cultural cohesion. “All languages must be treated with equal respect,” he said.
Addressing allegations of corruption, drug links, and phone tapping leveled against him, KTR rejected the charges, calling himself a transparent public servant. He said political discourse should focus on governance and service delivery rather than personal attacks.
Highlighting Telangana’s progress under BRS rule, he pointed to uninterrupted power supply, rapid industrialisation, and pro-people policies. He claimed that the state’s decade-long governance record had earned public approval and stood as a model.
