HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticised the central government, alleging that it is selling Cement Corporation of India (CCI) in Adilabad as scrap instead of reviving it. He accused the BJP-led Centre of deliberately dismantling public sector enterprises under the pretext of privatisation.
Addressing the issue, KTR stated that the CCI unit in Adilabad, which was once a thriving industry, has been left neglected and is now being auctioned as scrap. He claimed that such policies were leading to job losses and economic instability in Telangana, weakening the state’s industrial sector.
KTR further accused the central government of favouring corporate interests over public welfare. He remarked, “Instead of reviving industries, they are selling national assets for the benefit of private players.”
The BRS leader demanded immediate action from the Centre to revive the CCI unit rather than dismantling it. He also called upon Telangana leaders and workers to oppose such policies that threaten state industries.
The central government has not yet responded to KTR’s allegations. However, the issue is expected to fuel further political debate in Telangana.
