Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday criticised both the Centre and the Telangana government for remaining silent 200 days after the SLBC (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) tunnel collapse that killed eight workers.
In a post on X, KTR blamed the Congress-led state government for failing to retrieve the bodies of six victims. He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration of negligence and said the families had not received any compensation.
SLBC tunnel tragedy draws criticism from KTR
“The corrupt Revanth regime hasn’t even retrieved all the bodies, let alone helped the grieving families,” KTR wrote. He said both governments had ignored the tragedy for over six months.
He also targeted the BJP-led Centre. While central teams rushed to inspect minor issues in the Kaleswaram Project, he noted, they took no action to probe the SLBC collapse. “Why does the BJP always protect the Congress in Telangana? What explains this unholy alliance?” KTR asked.
KTR vows justice for SLBC tunnel victims
KTR pledged that a future BRS government would act. “We will ensure justice for all six families. Those responsible will be held accountable,” he said.
His remarks follow months of silence from both state and central authorities on the tragedy, which occurred during critical irrigation work.
