HYDERABAD: In a fiery social media outburst, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on both the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), calling them “enemies at the national level but best friends in Telangana.” His remarks, made in a tweet, have ignited fresh political tensions in the state.
KTR accused the Congress-led Telangana government of suppressing democratic movements, particularly at Osmania University, which has historically been a hub of student activism. He alleged that despite promising new job opportunities and an unemployment allowance, the Congress administration has failed to deliver, instead resorting to oppression.
He further claimed that Congress leaders who once sought votes by frequenting protest sites in Ashok Nagar are now silencing the very voices they pretended to support. KTR criticized the government for arresting Dalit farmer Venkataiah for demanding justice, as well as jailing journalists Revathi and Tanvi Yadav for merely reporting the truth. Additionally, he pointed out the attack on former MLA Rasamayi Balakishan’s residence, attributing it to political vendetta.
Expressing his frustration, KTR questioned whether Rahul Gandhi, who tours the country with the Constitution in hand, is conveniently ignoring the anarchy within his own party in Telangana. The tweet has sparked sharp reactions across political circles, with the Congress yet to respond officially.
The battle of words between BRS and Congress is heating up as Telangana’s political landscape witnesses growing turbulence.
