Hyderabad: BRS Working President K Tarakarama Rao on Wednesday hit out at the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of reneging on several key welfare promises while attempting to mislead the public with fresh announcements ahead of local body elections.
In a post on social media, KTR questioned the status of multiple schemes that were either discontinued or delayed. These included the missing instalments of Rythu Bharosa, the promised paddy bonus, the gold for brides and Kalyana Lakshmi benefits, and the halted KCR Kits and Nutrition Kits.
He also raised the unfulfilled promise of the Rs 2,500 monthly Mahalakshmi scheme and electric scooters for women, as well as the stalled Rythu Bima and farm loan waiver schemes.
Referring to past campaign strategies, KTR alleged that the Congress had previously made unverified guarantees ahead of the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, and was now using Rythu Bharosa for similar electoral motives. He accused the government of prioritising its own political survival over the delivery of its promises to Telangana’s citizens.
