Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government over repeated food poisoning incidents and student deaths in the state’s Gurukul residential schools, accusing it of gross negligence and inaction.
KTR claimed that more than 1,000 food poisoning incidents had occurred in the past year alone, impacting thousands of students and resulting in over 100 deaths. He said these were not isolated cases but part of a consistent pattern of administrative failure.
He demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy accept responsibility for the deaths and illnesses, criticising the government for not holding even a single review meeting on the issue. “When children are falling like birds, the government remains asleep,” he said.
The BRS leader, speaking as a father, urged Revanth Reddy to respond not just as CM but as a parent. “If your own children were served poisoned food, would you stay silent?” he asked.
KTR reminded the CM of his past remarks questioning who should be held responsible for student deaths. “I now ask Revanth Reddy who should be hanged for these deaths?” he said.
He alleged that BRS had raised the issue repeatedly, but ministers offered only token responses and diversionary statements rather than genuine action.
One is a mistake, two is an error, three is a blunder. But 1000 is criminal negligence and inane apathy!
1000 is lack of a system…a functioning government!
1000 is a spine chilling arrogance of a dictatorship! @TelanganaCMO
