Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of erratic behaviour, neglecting state issues, and indulging in publicity stunts at the cost of public welfare.
In a strongly worded statement, KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy suffers from “multiple personality disorder,” saying, “He speaks in contradictory tones on the same issue every other day, revealing his dangerous psychological inconsistency.” He slammed the Chief Minister for prioritising glamour events like Miss World while critical state issues remain unaddressed.
“Over 580 farmers have died by suicide. Paddy is being destroyed by rains. Yet, Revanth Reddy attends Miss World events four times, ignoring the plight of farmers,” KTR said. He further claimed that more than ₹200 crore had been spent on beauty pageants even as the government maintains the state treasury is empty. “Ministers have become tour guides for beauty queens. Is this governance or a fashion show?” he asked, echoing CPI leader Narayana’s remarks.
KTR criticised the showcasing of government projects to Miss World contestants, asserting that all the infrastructure displayed was built under BRS rule. “Name one project built by the Congress government. Apart from the historic Charminar, they have nothing to their credit,” he said.
He also accused the Congress of using glamour events to distract from unresolved governance issues, such as the SLBC tunnel workers’ ordeal. “While they remain trapped, the CM is busy on red carpets. It’s a betrayal of Telangana’s priorities,” KTR said.
Responding to corruption allegations and probe commissions, KTR alleged that the notices regarding the Kaleshwaram project were politically motivated. “The real goal is to cancel and re-tender projects to enable 20–30% kickbacks,” he claimed. He added that the Supreme Court had already undermined accusations against the Palamuru-Rangareddy project and predicted a similar outcome for Kaleshwaram.
He questioned the extension of deadlines by the Justice Pinakini Ghose Commission, stating, “They said the report was complete. Why delay now? The government must answer.” KTR emphasised that neither the BRS nor any individual leader had received formal notice yet.
He concluded by calling on the Congress government to focus on completing the Palamuru-Rangareddy project to ensure irrigation for Mahabubnagar’s farmers. (NSS)
