Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao held a teleconference on Thursday with party leaders to discuss the ongoing flood situation across Telangana and accused the Congress-led government of complete failure in preemptive planning and emergency response.
MLAs, MLCs, MPs, former legislators, district presidents, and senior leaders joined the call, where KTR expressed deep concern over the impact of heavy rains and flooding. He said the current administration had failed to coordinate relief efforts and ignored early warnings.
KTR flood relief call pushes BRS to fill gaps in government response
He recalled that during the previous BRS government, teams maintained real-time coordination with NDRF and SDRF and acted swiftly based on weather alerts.
“Unfortunately, this government barely reacts until we raise pressure,” he told party leaders. “We are a party that stands with the people. Every leader and worker from grassroots to elected office must step into relief operations.”
He directed BRS cadres to offer immediate help to those stranded or displaced by the floods. He asked them to provide food, drinking water, and essential supplies in high-impact zones. In areas hit by waterlogging and mudslides, he advised launching clean-up efforts.
KTR also instructed teams to set up medical camps where necessary and enforce sanitation drives to prevent outbreaks. He emphasized the need to highlight all relief work publicly to expose the government’s inaction.
