Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday assured farmers in Vikarabad that his party would support them in their fight against land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road.
At Telangana Bhavan, the farmers voiced strong objections. They alleged that the government had altered the original alignment to shield specific lands while targeting private holdings. In addition, they demanded clear answers on why land was being taken and how much would be acquired. They insisted that officials must follow the Land Acquisition Act and warned that arbitrary seizures would face stiff resistance.

The farmers further alleged that the Congress government spared government land while burdening private owners. They recalled similar controversies during the Outer Ring Road project and argued that the same pattern now appears in the Regional Ring Road case.
Moreover, they criticized the government for rejecting the central alignment and opting to fund the project with state money. According to them, the move was designed to protect lands linked to Congress associates.
Responding to their concerns, KTR said the BRS would back every farmer losing land. He emphasized that acquisition must have clear objectives and must comply with the law rather than political interests.
