HYDERABAD: On the occasion of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) silver jubilee, party working president K. T. Rama Rao paid floral tributes at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial and honoured the contributions of those who fought for Telangana’s statehood.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, he recalled the pivotal roles of Professor Konda Lakshman Bapuji and Professor Jayashankar, describing them as the driving inspiration and foundational pillars of the Telangana movement and the BRS journey.
K. T. Rama Rao highlighted that over the past 25 years, under the leadership of former Chief Minister and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, the party has played a crucial role. He recounted how BRS, founded 25 years ago, began as the dream of a single individual and gradually grew into a mass movement involving millions, ultimately achieving the formation of Telangana.
He expressed his joy in launching the silver jubilee celebrations at Jala Drushyam, the very place where the party was founded. Paying homage to Konda Lakshman Bapuji, he noted that at a time when the pink flag had no space to be hoisted, Bapuji opened his doors and extended his support.
K. T. Rama Rao asserted that BRS’s sole agenda has always been Telangana. He affirmed that while the party led the successful movement for statehood, it is now steadfastly committed to the state’s ongoing development.
