Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao wrapped up a successful UK tour, using the visit to showcase Telangana’s achievements and invite global investors to participate in the state’s growth story.
Touching down in the UK on May 27, KTR received a rousing welcome from Telangana NRIs eager to connect with their homeland’s leadership. Sporting a mask, he mingled with supporters, reaffirming his government’s commitment to its diaspora.
His first stop was to personally visit Anil, former chairman of the Film Development Corporation and a key figure in the second phase of the Telangana movement, who is recovering from heart surgery. KTR’s gesture underscored his promise to stand by party workers and supporters in times of need.
On May 28, he held discussions with BRS NRI members and senior leaders in London. KTR praised the UK NRI wing’s contributions during the Telangana agitation and acknowledged their role in projecting the state’s development under the BRS government over the past nine years. He called on his supporters to highlight the Congress party’s alleged corruption and unfulfilled promises on social media. Responding warmly to their invitation, he pledged his support for the upcoming BRS silver jubilee celebrations in the UK.
Later that day, he met with representatives from the UK Telugu Business Council and a group of budding entrepreneurs, encouraging them to look into investment opportunities in Telangana.
KTR delivered the keynote address at the prestigious Bridge India Week 2025 conference on May 30, where he laid out how Telangana’s policies have made the state a model of steady economic growth. He talked about the innovative, people-first approach of the KCR-led government, sharing a range of success stories and lessons learned along the way. Stressing equitable wealth distribution and inclusive growth as the state’s hallmarks, he invited global investors to make Telangana their first choice.
On May 31, he inaugurated the PDSL Knowledge Centre at Warwick University. The facility supports major automotive giants like McLaren, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Land Rover. He expressed pride in Telangana youth contributing to these world-class companies and explained how Hyderabad emerged as an automotive hub under the BRS government’s policies, following in the footsteps of Pune and Chennai. KTR expressed hope that such investments would generate substantial employment opportunities for Telangana’s youth.
