Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday warned that legal proceedings would be initiated against those making baseless accusations about phone tapping involving BRS leaders.
In a post on the BRS party’s official handle on ‘X’, he alleged that some individuals operating under the cover of media were acting like “Dandupalya gangs” to push the political agenda of the Congress, BJP, and TDP.
He accused these groups of spreading falsehoods through mainstream and social media, and said they would face defamation cases if they continued.
KTR expressed anger that the culture of lawlessness had been mainstreamed in public life by TPCC president Revanth Reddy. He claimed media owners aligned with opposition parties were deliberately running malicious campaigns under the garb of journalism.
He stated that such propaganda had no effect on him personally but caused severe mental distress to his family members. Party supporters and BRS cadres were also pained by what he described as insults to Telangana’s pride in the name of media freedom.

He said BRS workers should remain peaceful but assured that the party would fight back through legal means against those behind “vicious and low-minded” propaganda.
The party has also served legal notices to a Telugu news outlet for circulating allegedly fake reports, he added.
